NPP & EC Are Creating A Storm In A Tea Cup- NDC

The Northern Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has charged the police to thoroughly investigate the allegations that some Electoral Commission (EC) officials have tampered with the pink sheets used for the just ended elections. Three EC officials including its Northern Regional Deputy Director, Godfred Oklaim, were arrested at the weekend for attempting to procure signatures to validate some pink sheets that were not signed by presiding officers at the last elections. The Northern Regional Secretary of the NDC, Alahji Umaru Issifu Alhassan in an interview with Citi News has however warned that the NPP "should know that nobody can manufacture figures at this point, since the elections ended over a month ago. According to him, the EC had announced that in collating their pink sheets, they noticed that some of the presiding officers did not sign the sheets. So If the EC is generally doing what they think was their work, then they must admit to those check and balances in their work in the first place. He lamented its the NPP and the EC that are creating this kind of storm in the tea cup... NDC should not be drawn into the matter like the way some NPP activists are impugning.
