A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communication team, Asamoah Gyamfi has stated emphatically that the Minority caucus will not attend any state function concerning the President and the NDC party until the Supreme Court has come out with a verdict of the 2012 election results. According to Asamoah Gyamfi, speculations going on that the minority caucus will be attending the President�s State of the Nation Address on Thursday should be treated as bogus and false hear says. �All rumors about some MP�s agreeing to attend the State of Nations Address is not true, the NDC are just trying to play tricks with the people. What we (NPP) are saying is that, until the Supreme Court hears our petition, whatever state function concerning President John Mahama, we the NPP will boycott it, that is what we are saying. ��Whatever the function is, if it concerns the Mahama led administration, we (NPP) will boycott it,� he stated. Speaking on OKAY FM�s �Ghana Decides� political talk show programme , Asamoah Gyamfi said President Mahama has nothing better to offer Ghanaians in his address since his party have failed for the past four years when he was a vice-president under the Mills led administration. �When he (Mahama) and his party promised us about the erratic power outages, what happen�we are still facing that problem? Common crude oil He (JDM) could not help to solve that problem. What should we expect from him?� he said. However, Party leadership directed the minority caucus to sit out of the address in protest of the conduct and outcome of the 2012 elections. The party is contesting at the Supreme Court, the results of the 2012 presidential election, which it claims was fraught with irregularities. Its leadership has therefore directed the MPs to boycott any event or duties directly relating to the presidency. Accordingly, the Minority MPs came under heavy criticism for boycotting the vetting of the ministers appointed by President Mahama which its own party member Kennedy Agyapong lambasted the party for missing such a great opportunity to unveil the �Evil deeds� by some appointees. Meanwhile, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Minority Leader in Parliament told PEACE FM in Wednesdays 6pm news bulletin that, the party will not boycott parliament on Thursday, as they will be there to attend to their normal businesses.
