Prez's State Of The Nation Address Will Not Solve Our Problems

The Communications Director of the Convention People's Party, Nii Armah Akomfrah, has opined that the presidents state of the address which will be delivered in parliament today will not change anything as far as challenges facing the country are concerned. He says it is just a constitutional mandate he needs to fulfill, adding; it will not satisfy the concerns of Ghanaians. President John Dramani Mahama will today deliver his first state of the nation address after being sworn into office as the fourth President under Ghana's fourth Republic. Speaking in an interview on Peace FM, the CPP Communications Director indicated that todays state of the nation address will not be different from previous ones that have been delivered. He feels that all the addresses that have been delivered are all a barrage of words which is often not backed by any action. I dont think the address will satisfy their concerns. Weve heard time after time state of the nation address which often seem far removed from the real situation on grounds and so tomorrow will be no different. "He will just fulfill his constitutional duty, he will tell the nation what has been done but the situation on the grounds is getting worst...no amount of excuses will do. "They just refused to fulfill the needs of people and nothing is going to change no matter what he says in his (President Mahama) state of the nations address, he said. He alluded to the fact that the NDC led administration has performed so abysmal that they dont even have a clue as to how to solve the water and power problems the country is facing; nothing in the state of the nation address will change that. Nonetheless, we are expecting that the president will tell us what has been done as well as what he is going to do because currently many people are dissatisfied with the state of our nation. Many feel this government has been very insensitive...at a time we dont have water and are facing power challenges, you increase fuel prices. The nation is in distress and many are hoping that something will be done to avert the problems the country is facing, he uttered.
