People Matter You Matter; Prez Mahama Pledges To Put Ghanaians First

President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to �put the people first� in everything he does in his four year administration. In delivering his first State of the Nation Address in parliament on Thursday, he revealed four pivotal areas which will aid national development in his administration. These are putting the people first, a strong and resilient economy, expanding infrastructure then transparent and accountable government. According to him, his administration will be focused on putting the people first because they are considered as the �most treasured assets�. �Mr Speaker, in my first term of office, I will focus on the following which will constitute the vital pillars underpinning our national development programme: putting the people first, a strong and resilient economy, expanding infrastructure and transparent and accountable government...As a social democratic government, we put people first. We believe that our people are our most treasured assets,we will also ensure that the most vulnerable people in our society are protected,� President Mahama indicated. This according to him will be done through social groupings like education, health care, social security and protection for the vulnerable. In a way of putting the people first, he has also promised to create jobs and opportunities for the youth as well as every unemployed person in the country.
