Former NDC MP: Minority Are Lawless Law Makers

Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Adentan Constituency, Kojo Adu Asare has described the Minority New Patriotic Party (NPP) legislators in the sixth Parliament of the fourth Republic of Ghana as lawless laws makers. They are just flouting the constitution by staying away from the addresshe (John Mahama) remains President until the verdict of the Supreme Court petition by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) changes the status quo, he said. The former legislators harsh criticism of the NPP MPs comes on the back of a petition filed by the three leading NPP members namely; Nana Akufo-Addo, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey at the Supreme Court to challenge the 2012 Presidential Election results and the legitimacy of Prez John Mahama. Speaking on Accra-based Asempa FM, the former MP stated that the work of Parliament is in segments, starting with prayers but the main agenda of the day was the State of the Nations address which was read by the President. You cannot say the prayer, walk out of the chamber and tell me you performed your duty as a parliamentarian. I am waiting to see how they will join the majority to debate the budget, which would be presented by a Minister of State appointed by the President, he stressed. According to Kojo Adu Asare, the NPP is seeking to create a gloomy picture about the situation in the country to the outside World. There is a dooms day conspiracy unfolding right before us. It is this same attitude and behavior the NPP adopted a day after the swearing in of Professor Mills till his end. He further promised his support to the President and to make sure the objects of the any of the dooms day conspiracy does not manifest.
