I've Changed My Name...

For many years, fans of TV and radio Presenter Blakofe have been wondering what her real name is. Well wonder no more. For the artiste formerly known as Blakofe is now going by her Ghanaian name, Oheneba Akua Manfo. According to Akua �I decided to drop Blakofe and go back to using Oheneba or Akua because I travel a lot. And in my journeys, I have somehow found myself being an �unofficial Ambassador� for Ghana. From America to Europe to Africa, people readily associate me as Mama Ghana or Mama Africa. Each time I leave my house in �African print� or accessories such as beads from Ghana, I find I am promoting my people�s culture, traditions and way of life. As I have done on TV programmes such as GoldBlast, Amazing Ghana and Studio 53 where I had the wonderful opportunity to share Ghanaian cuisine, music, art, tourist sites etc. with an international audience. �she continues: My role as an �unofficial Ambassador� for Ghana hit home when making a train journey from London to Kent where I was approached by a man. �Ghana� he called out to me. I was surprised, but apparently we had met at an event organized by the Cameroonian High Commissioner to the UK. And what struck and stayed with this man was my love and passion when talking about Ghana.
