�I am in no doubt that the gradual erosion, the rapid deterioration of NPP�s image, stems from the poor leadership that they have currently. Having claimed that President Mahama is illegitimate, and by extension his ministers are not legitimate, they have undermined their own ability to demand accountability and performance from these ministers� The erosion of the NPP�s image cannot be underestimated� says Felix Ofosu-Kwakye, a member of the Communication Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). According to the NDC Communicator, the largest opposition party is gradually digging its political grave with how they keep on contradicting themselves �every step of the way�. He accused the leadership of the NPP of leading its members astray. He was commenting on the NPP�s vow not to take part in anything that will give legitimacy to President Mahama�s rule and the decision to take part in the reading of the 2013 Budget statement as well as their quest to ask Ministers appointed by the President questions in Parliament. Speaking on Radio Gold�s current affairs programme, "Alhaji and Alhaji", he described the NPP as a bag of contradictions. �Now they are saying that they will take part in the presentation of the budget statement; what they forget is that once their so called legitimate president, Nana Akufo Addo comes to power, he is not going to use that budget statement presented by President Mahama; which includes his vision�� he said curtly. Felix Ofosu-Kwakye, who is also an oil and gas analyst, pointed out to the NPP that by asking a question and demanding an answer from the ministers selected by President Mahama, the NPP has confirmed the legitimacy of President Mahama; �which is contrary to their previous position�. �How the NPP came to conclude that they are the ones who are best placed to give legitimacy to president Mahama baffles me completely�merely abstaining from specific government processes does not invalidate the legitimacy of President Mahama and so whoever advised them to take that trend have done them a great injustice because instead of delegitimising President Mahama they have ended up delegitimising themselves as a credible opposition because nobody takes them serious anymore. If this is not a recipe for multiple electoral defeats then I don�t know what it is�� he added.
