Tears Flow In Kumasi...As Otumfuo, NPP & NDC Mourn Apagyahene

The Apagyafie in Kumasi, was over the weekend, filled with sadness when the late Apagyahene, Oheneba Kwame Kyeretwie, was laid in state. Thousands of mourners converged at the place shedding tears for the late traditional leader described as accommodative, respectful, peaceful, development-oriented and a nice person. The occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II also paid his last respects. The late Apagyahene is the father of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka "Napo". Prominent among the people present were the former President John Agyekum Kufuor, 2012 NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo. The two leaders stormed the place in a sorrowful mood and were seen shedding tears as they filed past the body of the late Apagyahene. Also present were the former Defence Minister, Dr Kwame Addo Kufuor, former Finance Minister, Yaw Osafo-Maafo, current Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Deputy Chief of Staff in the erstwhile Mills administration, Alex Segbefia, former Country Manager of M-NET West Africa and former Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Herbert Mensah, etc The late Oheneba Kwame Kyeretwie was buried at the Apagya Stool Royal Mausoleum at Darbaa, near Asante Mampong.
