Government Determined To Find Quick Solution To Power Crisis- Vice Prez

Vice President, Paa Kwesi Bekoe, Amissah-Arthur has given the assurance that some major steps have been put in place to deal with the current energy situation when the Bui Dam commences operation next month. This, the Vice President said will ease the current power shortage to industries as a result of the power crisis. Vice President Amissah-Arthur gave the assurance when he met the Governing Council of the Private Enterprise Foundation at the Flagstaff House in Accra. He said government is working hard to ensure that the dam is fully completed by the end of year to generate the expected total of 400 megawatts of power. Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah �Arthur said the meeting was to enable him have direct interaction with the players in the private sector and to also explain some of the policies on the private sector as contained in this year�s budget. According to the Vice President, government recognizes the important role of the private sector in our national quest to create job and wealth for Ghanaians, and will therefore take the necessary steps to carry sector along in its development agenda. �The time has come for the government to walk the talk and truly make the private sector the real engine of growth rather than making it a mere rhetoric.� Torching on opportunities in this year�s budget, Vice President K.B. Amissah-Arthur mentioned access to credit as one of the major policy tools in this year�s budget to assist the private sector.
