VRA Spokesperson: "Domsor Domsor" Would Stay If We Dont Pay New Tariffs

Head of Corporate Communications at Volta River Authority, Mr. Samuel Kwesi Fletcher has revealed that if stakeholders do not speed up the process of expanding the countries power reserve to store energy to cater for the nation, the domsor domsor syndrome would continue to suppress the economic production of the country. In a practically approach to solve the rampant erratic power supply in the country, Mr. Samuel Kwesi Fletcher stated that even if all the power supply equipments at VRA were working properly, there were still power deficits to be addressed before the whole nation could enjoy unremitting power supply. because we dont have any reserve, our reserve is domsor domsor else the system would collapse if it is left to fully operate. Until this issue is attended to, domsor domsor would forever feature in our power generation, he noted. Speaking on Okay FM, Mr. Fletcher let slip that VRA had made provisions to gain about 22% of reserve margin by the end of May this year. He explained that after achieving their targeted feat, his outfit must move and add more capacity to the already existing ones because the nation grows 10% every year. This is a national issue and even though the truth would feel bitter in the mouth, it is better to tell the exact nature of the problem. It isnt solely about VRA demanding for an increase in our tariff system. It is about getting the right tariff because currently, we dont have the right tariff, he said. He further urged Ghanaians to do their possible best to pay their bills as the new tariffs would demand if given the green light. Mr. Fletcher indicated that the price a consumer pays, represents the quality of services he or she is provided with. Someone might ask that do we need quality of service before we pay our bills or we have to pay before receiving the quality of service?...whichever way, there is a cost to it and if you are asked to pay the right tariffs, I think the cost is that you have to pay more. If we are asked not to pay tariffs, the cost is that we would continue to stay in domsor domsor, he disclosed.
