Sources close to peacefmonline.com has disclosed that the current seat of government is still Flagstaff House. According to the source, President John Dramani Mahama has not endorsed a change of name. This position is contrary to the information given by Minister of Information and Media Relations, Mahama Ayariga. The Minister of Information on Wednesday revealed in an interview with Kwami Sefa-Kayi on Peace FM�s �Kokrokoo�, that the Flagstaff House has been changed to Jubilee Flagstaff House. According to him, the merger of Jubilee House and Flagstaff House was to satisfy the two sides; specifically the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), adding the focus should not be on the name but on the kind of work being done at the Jubilee Flagstaff House. Our source disclosed that in situations where the President decides to change the name of the Presidential palace that was completed by the erstwhile Kufuor�s administration, he would have to call a cabinet meeting to discuss and reach an agreement before such an information will come out. General Secretary of the ruling NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia popularly known as General Mosquito, is said to have expressed displeasure about the news of a change of name. According to him, there has not been any discussion whatsoever about the issue, adding if the President had made such a move, he would have informed cabinet and the National Executives of the NDC. Speaking in an interview on Citi Eye Witness news with Shamima Muslim, Editor of the Insight newspaper, Alhaji Iddrissu Bature said there was no way the President would have changed the name knowing that his predecessor, late President Mills; a man he considers his mentor changed it from President Kufuor�s Golden Jubilee House to Flagstaff House. He said: ��I don�t understand why another President will come from the same party to change the name. it doesn�t make sense at all�we have all accepted the Flagstaff House and I don�t know why anybody will attempt to change that name��
