MP Takes Kenkey To Parliament

Parliamentarians could not help but laugh when a Member of Parliament (MP) on Thursday stormed Parliament holding Kenkey and Fish. Parliamentarians met in Parliament yesterday to debate the 2013 Budget statement and according to our parliamentary correspondents, MP for Nsuta-Kwamang/Beposo, Kwame Asafo-Adjei, appeared with small balls of Kenkey to indicate the difficulties Ghanaians are facing in the country. Speaking in an interview on Peace FM evening news on Thursday, Hon. Asafo-Adjei said he took the small ball of kenkey to parliament to signal to the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Mr. Seth Terkper that Ghanaians are facing difficult times. According to Hon Asafo-Adjei, farmers especially are going through very difficult times with increment in fertiliser, transportation and many more and this has affected food prices. The truth is that due to the increment of fuel prices which led to the increase in transportation, everything has hiked up. Farmers are complaining of how expensive things have become and that led to the small size of Kenkey I took to parliament as evidence The long and short of the whole issue is that Ghanaians are facing serious difficulties and the Finance Minister needs to understand and make efforts to improve on the situation in the country as far as the economy is concerned... Hon Asafo-Adjei said.
