My cherished readers, kindly forgive me for giving you dum so�dum so type of articles these days. Even though the dum so-dum so is affecting everybody including me, the two occasions when I did not write, my old lady decided that she had had enough of life and therefore was joining her ancestors in the world beyond, after 81 years of hustling and bustling on this earth. It was a Wednesday so I could not have the calmness of mind to put my thoughts together for the following Friday. Then just last Saturday, the last remains of the old lady were interred in my holy village in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region. I surely could not have had the time and the composure to also join you in discussing national issues which collectively affect all of us. I am sure many of my readers will be angry with me for not informing them of the death of the old lady, just forgive me I just did not want to publicize the old lady�s death. However, may I take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all those who mourned with me and sympathized with me. My utmost gratitude goes to Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo and his team, who stormed my holy village to mourn with me even though I did not officially inform him of my bereavement. Thank you Nana, you never forget your friends. My thanks also go to Members of the Takoradi Sports Club. When I informed a friend in Takoradi of the passing of my mum, he asked, �oh so your mum has never died before eh�. That was silly you know, because mothers die just once. Why the old lady decided to leave at that time of the year is something which beats my imagination even though nobody can predict when one would leave this world for the world beyond. Well, she voted for free SHS for her grandchildren but somebody decided that her grandchildren should not have education. She could not bear it and had to say good-bye to this part of the unjust world to the world beyond. It is painful to lose any member of your family but it is more painful if that member happens to be your biological mother. One can however take consolation in the fact that natural but unwritten principle expects that children bury their parents. That I have lived to bury my mum is sufficient for me. While mourning, I was not detached from the madness of governance raging on in this country by these group of hoodlums led by a man who exemplifies hypocrisy and crass incompetence, I mean John Mahama. Now let me announce to the whole world that now that I have buried my mother and my only child is also taking care of himself in Kwesibronikrom somewhere in Europe, I don�t fear huu and I am sending a word of caution to those who in my view have engaged in a constitutional coup d��tat, to stand well. After all I have nothing to lose in the fight to ensure decency and bring mad people in government to sanity for the sake of this country. Ghana is too good to be entrusted into the hands of Yutong bus mates and their hangers on. JOHN MAHAMA What did I hear him say about the gargantuan and criminal dissipation of our collective resource which has created the largest deficit ever in the economic history of this country? That the implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure to public sector workers is the cause of the whooping GH�8.7 billion overspending by government? One of the biggest achievements of the NDC for which our ear drums were pounded every minute was the introduction of the SSSS. Indeed, for the first time in the history of this country, a group which was going to benefit from a government salary increases had to be invited for the public to know that these people have had salary increases. That is what they did with the Police, why then turn round to blame the Police for the unprecedented deficit? When the NDC was buying cars for young girls on the University campuses, with the inscription �Ede bee Kekee�, whose monies did they think they were using? The gargantuan Bill Boards which were dotted across the nook and cranny of the country cost money. Whose monies did they throw away in that reckless manner? John Mahama used the tax payer�s monies to procure laptop for distribution throughout the country with his personal pictures embossed on them as if they were procured by him, whose monies were involved? For him to blame increases in the salary of public sector workers for the deficit is just insulting the intelligence of Ghanaians. John Mahama must be told that being a crook does not make one intelligent and that the rest of us should be respected. John Mahama and his NDC rushed into creating new Districts; did they not consider the fact that it was going to increase government spending? As I write now, the government in the second half of last year recruited hundreds of graduates and posted them into the District Assemblies without office space and even designated work schedule. Did the government consider the cost implications in this politically motivated recruitment? When against all reason, majority of the people of this country were asking the government to hold on to the creation of new Constituencies and the NDC under John Mahama decided to throw caution to the wind and bulldoze their way through Parliament with the active connivance of Afari Gyan, in the creation of the additional 45 constituencies, did they take into account the cost implications of that rushed policy? The unadulterated corruption among Mahama�s cohorts, the inflated contract sums and the massive uncontrolled �we dey chop kekee� which have become the norm in governance today account for the economic mess and the financial crisis the nation is confronted with. Governance and leadership under the NDC lacks integrity and governance in Ghana has been reduced to a child�s play. DISTRICT ASSEMBLIES AND ZOOMLION John Mahama is today blaming District Assemblies for non-performance or misuse of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF). The NDC�s corrupt tentacles have been extended to the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, thus eating all the flesh in the Assemblies, leaving only the bones. A study I conducted on the release of the DACF for 2011 and 2012 showed that in many instances, less than 50% of the projected Funds were actually released to the Assemblies. Some had as low as 29%. The laudable activity of Zoomlion in refuse management in this country under the Kufuor administration has changed to a conduit through which District Assembly Funds are channeled for corrupt purposes. Huge sums of monies are taken from the District Assemblies and given to Zoomlion for waste management but I can bet that a lot of them are taken back to corrupt NDC officials. Let anyone explain the rationale behind the mountains of refuse heaps and the silted gutters all over the place when the Assemblies are paying so much for waste management. I am gathering how much of the District Assemblies� Common Fund had gone to the Zoomlion since the last four years and compare that to the filth that has swallowed all of us. In the midst of the energy and water crisis confronting this nation, any responsible and sensible President would use all the contacts available to him to find short and medium term solutions to them. In the biting shortage of electricity and water which are so critical for our daily lives, you see a President launching a $10billion Hope City. Which hope is that when basic needs like water cannot be provided by the state? Thinking of high rise apartments when electricity is being rationed and God knows when it will end? Come off it, why have we reduced leadership and governance to this mediocre level? Do people clamour and even buy positions for the sake of it when they lack the basic intelligence to think and make basic decisions that will improve the lives of the majority of our people? Ghanaians are being reduced to sub-human species only fit for the crumbs that fall under the tables of filthy corrupt incompetent charlatans taking a whole nation for a ride. For the first time in the history of Ghana, even chemicals used to treat water for consumption are poisonous. John Mahama and his bunch of criminals are killing us slowly. God �shave� us. Under John Mahama, drinking gallons of mahogany bitters is safer than a cup of Mahama treated water. I will stick to my mahogany bitters.
