Listeners of Okay FM�s Ade Akye Abia programme had their sensibilities assaulted in the early hours of Tuesday by the Chief Scribes of the country's two major political parties, as the two senior politicians virtually took delight in trading invectives and spewing forth tirades at each other. General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia and his colleague on the other side of the political divide, Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie bandied insulting phrases like �demons masquerading as human beings", "foolish", you are mad, you need psychological examination, chain his feet together just like it's done to mad men", as they two engaged in a banter with each other over claims by the NPP that the presidency might have masterminded the accident involving Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party's vice-presidential candidate in the 2012 General Elections. Dr. Bawumia, together with 3 other occupants in the vehicle, escaped unhurt on Sunday when two tyres of the vehicle he was travelling in exploded, forcing the car to somersault and skid off the road. He was travelling from Bole in the Northern region to the Ashanti region. Sir John, as the NPP General Secretary is affectionately called, was the first to go on the offensive when he accused the NDC and Mr. Asiedu Nketia of being �demons� in the disguised as men, scheming to destroy the life of Dr. Bawumia through an accident. He claimed that the NDC was doing its best to eliminate Dr. Bawumia because he is part of the petitioners challenging the declaration of John Dramani Mahama as President at the Supreme Court and the lead witness in the case as well. In a sharp rebuttal, General Mosquito, as the NDC Chief Scribe is popularly known, expressed annoyance at the �foolish� utterances or claims by Sir John that he is always been asked to respond to. He equated Sir John to one who is unknowingly gradually �losing his sense� and appealed to the elders of the NPP to lock up him up in a room and �examine his head�. �If a madman comes out to say something, you don�t expect a sensible person like me to come out and respond to everything he says,� he said. General Mosquito revealed that he sees similarities between Sir John�s current behavior and that of his late grandfather who became mentally imbalanced a couple of years ago. �I had a grandfather and I am not shy to say this. He used to talk illogically at times and when some of us reproached him, others in my family claimed it was due old age. Before we could say jack, he had gone mad and was using cutlass as a weapon,� he revealed. Citing examples to illustrate that Sir John has gone nuts, General Mosquito proverbially stated that: �when you are taking your bath and a mad man comes to snatch your clothe, you don�t attempt chasing him around naked; else you would be tagged as a mad man too�.
