Sir John: Take This From Me My Words Are Weighty Than That Of Akomea's

General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party, Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afiyie, has authoritatively established that with the power vested in him as secretary for the party; people should give priority to what he says and consider his comments as the official position taken by the party. In an interaction with Okay FM, Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie also known as Sir John, made it clear that he feels belittled if people refuse to attach importance to statements he makes and turn around to exalt other party officials who ranked below him. His concern is borne out of the reactions he has received from some NPP activists regarding his wild allegation that the NDC is behind Dr. Bawumias motor accident. The NPP Chief Scribe is on record to have accused unnamed officials of the NDC of plotting to assassinate its vice presidential candidate in the 2012 elections. But former opposition legislator, P.C Appiah Ofori and Director of Communications, Nana Akomea believes their partys General Secretary should have provided evidence to support his claim before going to town. Another leading NPP activist, Kennedy Agyapong, voiced similar views albeit a bit harshly. I dont support what Sir John has said, where our level of thought-processes are, we are joking! If such accusations are made, you will never know where the main problem is coming from. Its too quick for him (Sir John) to jump to conclusion and accuse the NDC. I dont believe in those things, we must investigate first before coming out with any comment. He (Sir John) is not just any other person but a whole General Secretary of a political party with massive followers. This issue shouldnt be politicized, that wouldnt help. It is about time we stopped this, the Assin Central NPP MP advised. Unhappy at being challenged by party colleagues, Sir John stressed that as General Secretary for the party, all others who are behind him in terms of party hierarchy should kowtow to his word. Take whatever you hear from Nana Akomea or any other person as a personal message. I am the General Secretary of the party. "The party's position isn't declared by Nana Akomea...if he is the Communication Director, he acts based on what I have told him. He doesnt speak for the party, every party matter is communicated by me and everything I say is final," he said.
