Nana Addos Legal Team: We Have Not Received Any Summons From Justice Kpegah

A member of the NPP legal team Kwame Akufo, has indicated that they have not received any summons from Justice Francis Kpegah against Nana Akufo Addo. Former Supreme Court judge, Justice Kpegah has hauled the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2012 presidential election, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo before the Accra High court, accusing him of impersonation. In his writ, he stated that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is impersonating W.A.D Akufo Addo who is on the roll of lawyers as No. 1190. According to Justice Kpegah, Nana Akufo-Addo is holding himself out as a lawyer when evidence available to him proves otherwise. Speaking on the issue, Lawyer Akufo indicated that his firm has not received any writ from the former Supreme Court Judge, inviting them to court; we heard it in the media. Lawyer Akufo told Kwami Sefa-Kayi on Peace FM that everybody in this country knows that Nana Akufo Addo is the same as William Akufo Addo and indicated that Justice Kpegah is just trying to discredit Nana Akufo Addo. He urged Justice Kpegah to cross-check his facts from the General Legal Council since they are one of the institutions that can prove Nana Akufo Addo is a qualified lawyer. Akufo-Addo was called to the bar in England in 1971 and was called to the Ghana bar in 1975; there is no impersonation anywhere. The fact that he has shortened his name from William Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo to Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo does not disqualify him from being a lawyer. How can an impersonator train lawyers like Justice Sophia Akufo, and a whole lot? He (Akufo Addo) is one of the most important lawyers in this country Justice Kpegah is just trying to defame Akufo Addothey are all lies and should be thrown into away. He (Akufo Addo) is a lawyer and has handled a lot of cases in the country and all is proof that he is a qualified lawyer. It is regrettable to hear such an elderly man and a former chief justice say and do things like this he stated.
