I wonder why the National Security has not been swift in responding to what I said about them plotting to kill Bawumia�they are like wizards aiming to take away Bawumia�s life by twisting his neck just like what they did to Mills�, General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, has reiterated his certainty about the unscrupulous machinations by President Mahama, the national security and the entire Police Service to take away the life of Dr. Bawumia; just like they did to the late former President J.E. Mills. �I don�t trust our policemen - they only work for President Mahama. They don�t care about the lives which were involved in the accident, they are only interested in saving the president of any wrong doing�, he alleged. Sir John, as the NPP chief is affectionately called, found himself in a series of controversies over claims that the government had a direct hand in Dr. Bawumia�s unfortunate accident, which occurred on the Bole-Bamboi road on Sunday. The General Secretary of the NPP has also made it clear that the NPP as a party would not entertain and allow the police to conduct any investigation to bring to fore the findings; simply because they aren�t trustworthy. �The police men are equal to car owners who would rush to a scene to see if their cars have been damaged instead of lives involved in the accident�, he said. Although the Police Service has petitioned Sir John to produce the mangled car before the close of the day, he has stated on authority that he has nothing to do with the accident car so the police can decide on what they plan of doing. �The car isn�t mine and if they have evidence I have it, they can come and arrest me�, he said. Speaking on Okay FM�s morning show, Sir John told the host of the Ade Akye Abia that the police investigators were only interested in clearing President Mahama�s name simply because he has been accused by the NPP as the brain behind the accident. �They know why they are defending Mahama�are they expecting me to walk around looking for the �missing car�? They are only interested in saving the president from any wrong doings and tell us the accident was caused by nails that perforated the car tyres�, he added.
