Bawumia�s Mangled Vehicle Found

The Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) of the Ghana Police Service have located the vehicle of the 2012 Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was traveling in when he had an accident last Sunday. According to the Unit, the vehicle is currently at a fitting shop in La, Accra. Dr. Bawumia together with his Press Aide and Driver were involved in an accident on the Bole road in the Northern Region last Sunday; an incident the NPP has alleged was caused by the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC). The Police on Thursday ordered the General Secretary of the NPP who made the allegation, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie to produce the car for investigation into the cause of the accident to begin. Speaking to Citi News on Friday, the Deputy Commander of the MTTU, Chief Superintendent Samuel Tetteh revealed that the Campaign Manager of Dr. Bawumia who gave his name as Eddie Appiah informed his Unit of the where about of the vehicle and so the his men have been sent there to prevent further tampering with the evidence. He narrated saying, �this morning, the Campaign Manager to Dr. Bawumia called me that he knew where the car is so if I can meet him so he takes me to the location. So I went with my investigators and we went and then we met him and he led us to a private shop at La so we quickly took pictures of it at the workshop so that nobody will tamper with it again.� Chief Supt. Tetteh also mentioned that three statement forms have been sent to Dr. Bawumia�s house to enable the Police �take steps to get the car tested.� He indicated that they are in the process of filing papers �to be taken to the DVLA [Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority] for a testing officer to have the car tested and we shall do that before the close of the day today. The car, the way it is, it is beyond repairs.�
