Inusah Fuseini: Nobody In The NDC Would Wish Dr. Bawumia Dead

The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini has said that no NDC member wishes former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) and the running mate of the Presidential candidate of the NPP in 2012 election, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia dead, as being alleged and speculated by General secretary of the NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie also known as Sir John. Hon. Insuah Fuseini explained that; nobody in the NDC would wish Dr. Bawumia dead. Bawumias Father Alhaji Mumuni Bawumia and John Mahamas father were stalwarts of the CPP in the Northern Region. It might stand to reason that when growing up, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia or the President would have come into contact with each other at levels that, at that time did not know would bring them to either to the NDC or NPP. I was a classmate of two of Dr. Bawumias brother. I slept in the same house with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, indeed I went and applauded him at Tamale Secondary School when he was a table tennis player until he left the shores of this country for London to study. How on earth can I wish the death of Bawumia?...I am an unrepentant social democrat and an NDC but for the likes of me, I would not wish Bawumia dead, he emphasized. The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale central could not understand why the General Secretary of the NPP would discount all these factors that pull us together as a people and go ahead to state that persons in the NDC, or NDC as a party are responsible for the accident on the Bole Bamboi road involving Dr. Bawumia and his entourage, is mind bugling. Hon. Inusah Fusieni was speaking on Dr. Bawumias accident and the subsequent accusations by Sir John on Citi FMs Big Issues on Saturday. Sir John has been criticized by a cross section of the general public for pointing accusing fingers at the President and the National Democratic Party (NDC) as being behind Dr. Bawumias near-fatal accident. However, he claims, the NDC would want to eliminate him because the former Deputy Governor of the BoG is a principal actor in the on-going Supreme Court Petition, challenging the validity of the 2012 general elections in which President Mahama was declared winner. This assertion, the representative of the people of Tamale Central finds simply unbelievable, the level of irresponsibility and the tomfoolery Sir John exhibited. He further advised the General Secretary of the NPP, to always exercise maximum restraint and exhibit a lot of decorum whenever he makes interventions in the public. He further added that; law 101 tells us when you become a lawyer, people look up to you for leadership and direction. It doesnt come by way of displaying crass ignorance about a persons status or the cause of an accident. It comes by applying yourself diligently to the matters before you and making pronouncements that others can refer to.
