Prez Mahama Is RightStop The Lazy Morning Shows On Radio Anita De Soso

National Women's Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anita De Soso, has concurred with Prez John Dramani Mahama in his assertion that some radio morning show hosts lack professionalism in their style of presentation. President Mahama during a meeting with senior editors and executives of the Ghana Journalists Association at the Flagstaff House last Friday described morning shows on radio stations as Lazy. The President said the sensational nature of radio in the country makes it difficult for pertinent issues affecting the ordinary Ghanaian to be highlighted. According to Anita De Soso, who was speaking on Adom FM, morning show programmes are now designed to misinform the public and create bedlams instead of educating and informing the public. I fully support the President, we all know the President is a communication expert and has been a Minister of Communications as well. He raised the standard of the media to a certain level when he was a Minister. Morning Shows are very important but the trend and format is a bit shaky now. Whiles the public will be depending on radio stations for good information early morning, they (the public) will rather be hearing unnecessary information and mischievous agendas by morning show hosts. For instants I (Anita) was accused of going to Antoa, all radio stations were calling me asking all sorts of questions. Meanwhile, there are serious issues to be discussed that will help the nation, she said. Anita De Soso further accused some morning show hosts of political stridencies since she believes some hosts are politically inclined but was quick to laud others for their good work done. Some hosts exaggerate issues just to make their show extraordinary. Issues that are past are sometimes re-invited by these hosts just to create confusion. Some hosts also have the nation at heart and digest on issues that will benefit the nation. If that is done by all hosts, the public will be well abreast with information and know what is going on in the country, she added. She however discounted suggestions that with the President using Accra-based ADOM FM to illustrate his point, the station was part of the category of 'Lazy morning show presentation, stressing that she believes the President rather enjoys listening to Adom FM. The President really listens to Adom FM that is the main reason why he mentioned ADOM FM, but not that the stations morning show is lazy. The station should rather be proud because the President listens to them a lot. I (Anita) was really happy when I heard the president mentioned Adom FM. I applaud you for your hard work, she said in an interview on Adom FM.
