NDC To Reduce Poverty, Suffering

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, led by President John Dramani Mahama, will develop every nook and cranny of the country. This will help reduce poverty and suffering of the masses. Dr Kwabena Donkor, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pru East, gave this assurance at a rally at Yeji, the capital of the Pru East constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region. The rally was to thank the chiefs and people of the area for voting massively for him and President John Dramani Mahama in the December 2012 general election. He expressed his appreciation to the chiefs and people of the area for their massive support which ensured victory for him and President Mahama at the December 2012 polls. Dr Kwabena Donkor gave an assurance of his commitment to serve his constituents and do all he could as MP and a citizen of the area to bring development to the door- step of the people. He said, the challenges confronting the nation such as the energy crises and the strike action by teachers would be solved by the President. He, therefore, appealed to Ghanaians to keep faith with the government as there were good times ahead. Dr Donkor used the occasion to appeal to the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Teachers and Education Workers Union (TEWU), Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) and other teacher groups to call off their strike as negotiations were ongoing. "The government would not let teachers down. What we need is patience", he said. Later in an interaction on the current energy crises, Dr Donkor, who is also the chairman of the Energy Board, said the government had put in place the necessary measures to resolve the crisis. Mr Solomon Nkansa, National Deputy Propaganda Secretary of the NDC assured the teeming supporters that President Mahama was on the right course and had been recognised by the international community as the President of Ghana. He, therefore, urged them to remain focused and resolute and rally behind the government to achieve its vision of a �Better Ghana� saying �we must be focused in supporting President Mahama to succeed as well as keep united to make the NDC a great party and the only hope for Ghanaians.
