What Have We Done To Deserve Such Manner Of Persons As Deputy Ministers?

Member of Parliament (MP) for Atebubu Amanteng constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region has lauded President John Dramani Mahama for nominating Ministers and Deputy Ministers to cut across various categories of persons. Sanja Nanja who was speaking on the 26 new list of Deputy Ministerial nominations by President Mahama told Kwami Sefa-Kayi on the Kokrokoo Morning Show that looking at the way the President has cast his net wide to cover every category of person, the country has a future. The president on Tuesday named his final list of ministerial appointees, bringing his total number of ministers and deputies to a little closer to ninety. Some of the new and final list of deputy ministerial appointees released yesterday included, Victoria Hammah for Communications, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye for Trade and Industry, Murtala Mohammed for Information and Media Relations as well as Joseph Yammin for Youth and Sports. Sanja Nanja however disagreed with members of the opposition who accuse the President of nominating those alleged to be disrespectful and loud-mouths. Whether they deserve that position or not does not matter. The most important thing is for them to go and fulfill the mandate given to them in their various positions. There is nothing like job for the boys so far as he or she will be able to deliver. Meanwhile, those appointed must also not be full of themselves but ensure that they do the work, he said. However, speaking on the same platform, Kwamena Duncan, a member of the Communication Team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not amused with the nominations. According to him, President Mahama should have known better and spared Ghanaians the venom of some of these Deputy Ministers He does not understand why somebody, who will declare his constituency a no go area and say all sort of unprintable words against people, will be given a Deputy Ministerial position. What have we done to deserve such manner of persons as deputy ministers? The President took no lessons from his predecessorsHowever, no matter the kind of persons the President nominates, the value is the same. It is not going to bring any development to the country. We are hopeful that the Supreme Court will give its ruling and Ghanaians will be liberated, Kwamena Duncan opined.
