Gabby is Cunningly Preparing The Grounds For What He Is Claiming To Guard Against

The Managing Editor of the defunct Gye Nyame Concord newspaper, Alfred Ogbamey has stated that the Executive Director of the Danquah Institute, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko is not genuinely worried about his claims of escalation of violence, if the minds of Ghanaians are not prepared before the verdict of the ongoing challenge of the election results but cunningly preparing the grounds for what he is claiming to guard against. If indeed you are worried about the potential destruction of the peace, you would be appealing for restraint and ask all to abide by the rule of law. Quiet clearly, Nana Addo is in court because he believes in the rule of law and therefore Gabby being a lawyer, should know the ruling of the court is final. John Dramani Mahama cannot overturn the ruling of the courts and he is expected, required to abide by that ruling. Even if he has some grievances and would call people to pour into the streets, in a rule of law, we are required to call him to order. It is the same with the opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo. When there is a ruling, whether he ends up winning or not, he is expected to abide by it. And therefore for you to be suggesting that look; lets start talking about peaceare we waiting for people to go into the streets, and all that argument for me is a contradictory. If he had said lets start educating people to agree with the results, I would have agreed with him, he explained. Alfred Ogbamey made these konown in an interview with Peacefmonline.com, in reaction to a post on facebook and an interview Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko granted Asempa Fm, on Tuesday. In both instances, Mr. Otchere-Darko suggested for the civil society groups in Ghana to begin to prepare the minds of Ghanaians so as to accept the verdict of the on-going contestation, with regards to the validity of the 2012 general elections. According to him, it was important for the minds of the populace to be prepared for the reception of the ruling of the Supreme Court on the electoral results dispute, to avert any chaos that could lead to the disability of the country. He claims there is public anger in the citizenry and is therefore calling for proactive measures to be put in place to nip this eminent implosion of public anger into chaos and anarchy, in the bud. However, Alfred Ogbamey told Peacefmonline.com he is not in agreement with Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko on the suggestion that, there would be an outpour of Ghanaians on the streets which would lead to unrest and chaos if that education is not done. On the question on whether the Executive Director of the Danquah Institute is making this call because he foresees a defeat of the petitioners in the court case, the Managing Editor of the defunct Gye Nyame Concord stated that he would want to assign reasons for the appeal but believes Gabby as a trained lawyer, knows that the two possible outcomes of the Supreme Court case is either a win or a lose, despite the fact that he may be having very strong convictions with respect to their evidence at hand. The fact that there are people who are angry and may not be satisfied with what is going on does not also mean that, there are also no people who are angry because the petitioners are in court what I would call for is restraint, he concluded.
