Minister of Transport Appeals To Drivers To Make This Years Easter Accident Free

Statistics from the National Road Safety Commission indicates that an average of two thousand people is killed yearly with a breakdown of four daily through road accidents. Pedestrian casualties constitute about forty-two percent whiles twenty three percent involve children below the age of 16 years. Again, the statistics revealed ninety percent of all road accidents are caused by human errors. In order to help reduce the figures, the Minister of Transport, Dzifa Ativor, has cautioned drivers to be extra vigilant before, during and after the Easter season. Madam Ativor said this when she paid a working visit to the Ashaiman main station in Accra to educate drivers on Road Safety. She said her Ministry will collaborate with the National Road Safety Commission to ensure that this Easter is accident free.
