Filthy Rev. Owusu Bempah!

The controversial Founder & Leader of the Glorious Word Ministry International, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, is in the news and again for the wrong reason. This time, it is not about he seeing a vision that indicates President John Mahama will die; rather, it is for producing all kinds of filth in his Baatsona home and distributing it to his neighbours. Every church leader worth his sort knows that, Cleanliness is next to Godliness. However, it is obvious that for this church leader, Filth is next to Godliness. Rev. Owusu Bempah lives in a giant and imposing building at Baatsona (Community 18) in Tema. The house is located just a few metres away from the Total Filling Station. According to information gathered by the Daily Post, neighbours of the Reverend Minister have been forced to endure the filth he has been generating from his house for some time now because all their pleas to him to be a bit more responsible in the way he disposes off his waste, both solid and liquid, have fallen on deaf ears. On Tuesday, April, 4, 2013, officials of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) who visited the neighbourhood were shocked at the way filth from his house was pouring into his neighbours house, particularly liquid waste from the septic tank of his house which had found its way into the neighbours house with its attendant bad smell. When queried, he told the TMA officials that he does not have anything to do with the construction of the tank, a claim neighbours who were living there before he built the house said is a palpable lie. The shocked TMA officials have thus given him a five-day ultimatum to break down his septic tank and build a new one in accordance with the standards prescribed by TMA. Residents in the area recounted ordeals they go through during the rainy season and how it is difficult to ply routes leading to their various houses. While the roads leading to their houses are bad, they have been made worse by the content of the septic tank in front of Rev. Owusu Bempahs house which leaks badly and pours on the road. One neighbour has the misfortune of having the liquid waste ending up in his house. The bad odour it generates makes living there a hell not to talk of the attendant mosquitoes which has resulted in a situation.
