The Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur has assured the business community in Ghana, as well as potential investors of government�s determination to remove hindrances that frustrates their investment drives. He said President Mahama has a strong vision for Ghana of rapid development within the medium term due to the country�s positioning within the West African region. The Vice President made this known when a delegation of Brazilian investors led by the Brazilian Ambassador to Ghana, Irene Vida Gala paid a courtesy call on him at the Flagstaff House in Accra. Mr. Amissah-Arthur also remarked that Ghana and Brazil have traded a very congenial relationship that spans for years and said the number of Brazilians doing business in Ghana attests to that fact. He said Brazil remains a good example for emerging economies to learn from due to how it has transformed its economy, and assured the delegation that government is very much committed to encouraging more investors to partner either the private sector or government into improving the quality of lives for the Ghanaian people. The Vice President made it known to the delegation that a lot of investment is needed particularly in very critical sectors such as energy and agri-business. �There are huge prospects for the Ghanaian economy and it is very important that businesses begin to strategically position themselves to tap into these prospects,� he said. Mr. Amissah-Arthur also expressed delight in the level of co-operation existing between the two countries. For her part, the Brazilian Ambassador to Ghana, Irene Vida Gala expressed gratitude to the government of Ghana for the level of co-operation that Brazilian investors in the country continue to receive and hopes it will encourage more of potential investors to come in and enjoy same co-operation. She noted that the determination of the Brazilian firms to expand their investments would help to further strengthen the relations between Ghana and Brazil. According to the Ambassador, the two countries share common development objectives, and promised that the Brazilian government would continue to offer its expertise to support Ghana�s economic growth.
