President of the Ghana Medical Association, Dr. Kwabena Opoku Adusei has responded to the "nonsensical" allegations by the Daily Post newspaper that certain key members in the New Patriotic Party are the brains behind the recent strike actions that has rocked the foundation of the nation and are stoking fire to ensure the action makes this current administration unpopular. In an interview with Kwame Nkrumah �Tikese� on Okay FM�s 'Ade Akye Abia' morning show, Dr. Kwabena Opoku Adusei maintained the 'Daily Post' newspaper did not deserve the scintilla of attention from agitated workers since the story did not merit logical reproach. The Daily Post newspaper, in the wake of the incessant industrial actions which has astounded the nation, published in their April 9th, 2013 edition that they have picked up intelligence that �the driving force behind the many labour agitations and strikes that has plagued the country in recent times is the huge sums of money that the opposition NPP has doled out to some in the leadership of the various labour groups to get them lead labour agitations against the government and make President John Mahama look incompetent in the eyes of the public.� The paper further also published that: �an NPP source in the sanctum sanctorum of the party confirmed that some in the leadership of the striking doctors, pharmacists and teachers have been given whopping sums of money ranging from GHC30,000 to GHC65,000 per person and tasked to ensure that they take an uncompromising stand when negotiating with government with the ultimate aim of ensuring the negotiation collapse and workers resorting to strike actions�. In a reaction to this, Dr. Kwabena Opoku Adusei, in plain words stated that the story was simply �nonsensical� and full of garbage. According to him, the publication sought to create the impression that agitated works had no mind of their own and heeded to the calls of politicians who had nothing to do with their actions.
