Media practitioners in the country have been jabbed for doing little to battle corruption in government. Leading NPP member Kennedy Agyapong noted that the media were not helping matters in the fight to eradicate corruption. He particularly descended heavily on the media for not pushing President Mahama to explain his recent comment about the state of the economy. President Mahama, using meat to described the state of the economy, said the little meat on the bone had been chewed so it was left with the bone. The president�s comments implied that the economy as in tatters, with little hope for the country, Mr. Agyapong explained on Nhyira FM in Kumasi. He therefore asked President Mahama to boldly come out and mention the one who chewed the meat. Hon. Agyapong said Mr. Mahama was made president for almost six months following the sudden death of President Mills, after he had been vice president for about three-and-a-half years. President Mahama, the NPP guru stated, then handed over power to himself after the 2012 polls which the NPP was contesting in court. According to him, it was clear that if indeed the meat had been chewed and it was left with a bone, then the NDC administration should be held culpable. Mr. Agyapong said the media should have asked the president a key question to determine who indeed chewed the meat. He emphasized that President Mahama should be blamed for the mess of the economy. He demanded that President Mahama should quickly render accounts of his stewardship to the citizenry to determine the cause of the economic mess. �President Mahama as sitting president handed political power to himself as president, so he should render accounts to the people to determine the cause of the rot.� Mr. Agyapong said the NDC administration had proven beyond doubt within the last four-and-a-half years that it was not capable of managing the economy.
