If The Media Stops Calling Me, I Will Stop Talking Asiedu Nketia

The General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress , Johnson Asiedu Nketia has reacted to claims that he should be blacklisted by the media from commenting on the 2012 election petition against the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Electoral Commission (EC) which is currently on going. Some distinguished lawyers have called on Asiedu Nketia and Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, General Secretaries for the two leading political parties, NDC and NPP respectively, rebuffing calls for the two to be barred by the media. Again an intense lobby by the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has also called on the media to stop giving mileage to the intemperate words of the two General Secretaries in the ongoing election petition being heard by the Supreme Court. According to Asiedu Nketia aka General Mosquito both the renowned lawyers and the GJA can keep agitation about his blacklist from the media but he will keep talking as far as he is been called upon by the media. The media have been advised not to call me but I have never said anywhere I dont want to talk. If I am relaxing somewhere and they (the Media) call me, I will happily express my views. No one can stop me from talking. That is my duty as the General Secretary, he said. In an interview with OKAY FM, he further said If you the media wouldnt call me again, I will not talk but if they do, then it simply means they want my opinion and I will definitely talk. I if am talking what I know is exactly what I will say and no one can seal my lips.
