GHACEM Foundation Donates 13,680 Bags Of Cement To Southern Ghana

The Ghacem Cement Foundation set up by Ghacem Limited in 2002 has presented about 13,680 bags of cement worth over GHc 300,000 to Health and Education Institutions in deprived communities found in the Southern part of the country. The Western, Central, Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta Region were areas which formed part of the Southern Sector of the country that benefited from the free cement under the Ghacem Cement Foundation, which is an annual benevolence from the leading cement manufacturer. The others, which consists of the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions, will also receive its estimated allocation of free cement by the last quarter of the year. Dr George Dawson-Ahmoah, Secretary to the foundation, who is also the Strategy and Corporate Affairs Director of Ghacem in his welcome address, commended the representatives of the beneficiary institutions for coming in their numbers which attested their quest to see development in their communities. He however expressed optimism that the over 11 years existence of the GAF had seen massive infrastructural development in deprived communities in the country hence the need to maintain such key social responsibility to augment Government�s effort in developing the country. The Managing Director of Ghacem, Mr Morten Gade, whose speech was read on his behalf, emphasised the importance of such event on the company�s calendar thus providing the opportunity for Ghacem to annually assist deprived communities to improve their health and educational infrastructures. Ghacem, he noted was committed to maintain its market leadership position by producing and delivering innovative high-quality, cost effective and environmentally responsible cement products to the Ghanaian market. Adding that, the company will continue to add to those products by an uncompromising commitment to customer service to optimise customer satisfaction.
