NDC Organizer Praises Bawumia

The Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kwaku Boahen says he is impressed with the performance of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, 2012 Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Supreme Court. Mr Boahen stated emphatically that Dr. Bawumia has proven beyond reasonable doubt in court that he is a well cultured person who cannot be easily provoked. In the face of what he described as strong and difficult questions from the lawyers of President Mahama, the Electoral Commission (EC) and the NDC, Boahen stated that Dr Bawumia adequately answered questions posed to him. Mr. Boahen stated further that Dr. Bawumia has displayed that he is well cultured person because he has been able to control his temper despite being asked provocative questions. The NDC Youth Organizer said he was overwhelmed by the calmness of Dr. Bawumia in the courtroom. Speaking to Angel FM, a radio station, the NDC Youth Organizer said indeed Dr. Bawumia has been able to comport himself so far since the case started at the Supreme Court so he should be commended. He was of the opinion that the NPP has no case, adding that the Supreme Court, after hearing the parties in the matter, would dismiss the NPPs petition. Dr. Bawumia has been sweating all over since the case started which is an indication that the NPP has no case, he said. The NDC, Boahen stated, jubilated the very first day the Supreme Court began the hearing of the petition, stressing that the Supreme Court would not declare the NPP as winners in the matter. According to him, the constitution doesnt give powers to the Supreme Court to overturn the verdict of the EC. President Mahama would remain in office after the verdict of the court. Even if the Supreme Court realizes some errors in the 2012 polls, it would only punish the EC and not the NDC, he indicated.
