A leading member of the NDC, Nana Ato Dadzie has declared that the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo Addo�s status as a lawyer cannot be challenged. A former Supreme Court Judge, Justice Francis Kpegah had filed suit at a high court alleging impersonation by the 2012 presidential candidate. Even though the court threw out the suit describing it as frivolous, Justice Kpegah has said he will appeal against the decision thus sustaining a debate on Nana Addo�s status as a lawyer. However Nana Ato Dadzie, who was Chief of Staff under the Rawlings administration, said his personal experience with the Nana Addo proves otherwise. Nana Ato Dadzie who was speaking on Citi FM�s news and current affairs program, The Big Issue stated that although Justice Kpegah reserves the right to sue Akufo Addo on his legitimacy as a lawyer, his personal experience shows that the claim is untenable. �I have known Nana Akufo Addo within the courts of this country; political life we�ve also been on one side before and all that, so if anyone comes up to say that Nana Addo is not a lawyer I should be the first to step forward to say no that cannot be true.� According to lawyer Ato Dadzie on the basis of what he knows he can�t say Nana Addo is not a lawyer but that does not stop anyone who believes otherwise from raising it. �If Mr. Justice Kpegah says that Nana Addo is not a lawyer and all that, of course our courts permit it.� Former Supreme Court judge, Justice Francis Kpegah is challenging the legitimacy of Nana Addo as a lawyer in court, but the Accra High court last Thursday dismissed the case for lack of facts and evidence.
