Dr Ephraim Avea Nsor, Upper West Regional Minister has commended the Methodist Church Ghana, for the various development interventions the mission had implemented over the years to uplift the lives of the people. He mentioned the establishment of the Wa School for the Blind as an example, which had offered many people skilled and other training. Other notable contribution of the Church to the region�s development he said is the Lawra Rehabilitation and Nutrition Centre which it established to provide skills for rural women and feeding of malnourished children. Dr Nsor said this in a speech read on his behalf at the 52nd Synod of the Northern Diocese of the Church at Wa. The Synod is an annual event during which members of the Church meet to take stock of their activities and address shortcomings and also plan the way forward for its future development. Dr Nsor expressed government�s commitment to continue to partner the church and other faith based organisations in all spheres of national development. Right Reverend Emmanuel MacLord Afriyie Bishop of the Northern Diocese of the Church speaking on the theme of the Synod; �The Prayer Factor in Witnessing to Christ Today,� said prayer is the Christian�s vital breath and therefore they would perish if they ceased to pray. He said prayer is indispensable in the life of a Christian and the key to any successful ministry and therefore the clergy to pray to be able to function effectively as true ambassadors of Christ.
