GBC staff made Chief of Atomfourso in Tain District

Mr Thomas Nsowah-Adjei, a Journalist and Ashanti Regional Correspondent of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) has been installed Chief of Atomfourso in the Seikwa Traditional Area in the Tain District of the Brong-Ahafo Region. He was nominated by the Yaw Ekye Family and approved by the kingmakers upon careful analysis and consultations and was given the stool name Nana Ekye Nsowah-Adjei II, to succeed Nana Kofi Adamu who died about a year ago. This was contained in a statement issued and jointly signed by Nana Kwasi Kumah Kennedy, Krontihene, Nana Owusu Achaw, Queenmother, Nana Tannor Emmanuel, Gyaashene, Nana Obeng Mfum, Nifahene, Nana Yaw Owusu, Akwamuhene, Nana Oppong Kwasi, Adontehene and Nana Ofori Amanfo, Ankobeahene. The statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani on Monday said: �The Krontihene, Queenmother, Gyaasehene and the entire family heads of all the six gates who hold the legitimate title to the Atomfourso Stool... have traditionally, customarily and legally nominated and installed Nana Ekye Nsowah-Adjei II, as the new Chief of Atomfourso.� Nana Kumah Kennedy, who administered the oath, advised the new chief to use his knowledge and experience to help improve the living standards of the people in the town. �You should endeavour as a priority to help address poverty and the high illiteracy rates among the children,� he added. Nana Ekye Nsowah-Adjei expressed gratitude to the kingmakers, family heads and the community for the honoured bestowed on him. He said the peaceful ceremony was a clear demonstration of the love and faith the people had in him and their support should be translated into real action when they are called for duty to build the community endowed with human resources, which is central and golden material in building any society.
