Doctors Are Insensitive-Yaw Boateng Gyan

The National Youths Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Yaw Boateng Gyan has described the striking doctors as being insensitive without having the nation and their patients at heart. According to him, the doctors are being heartless in dispensing their duties to the average Ghanaian who needs medical care. Doctors think they have all the life of Ghanaians in their hands so they can do whatever they want to do to us but it is not fair, he stated. He said even though government and some high profiled personalities including former United Nations (UN) General Secretary, Mr. Kofi Annan had appealed to them to go back to work, they have refused. Why? Leaders like former UN Secretary had spoken to doctors to rescind their decision but they think they are so special to deal with but doctors are no more than anybody in the country, he said. Mr. Gyan further quizzed that, government has done all that it could to get doctors back to their respective hospitals but they refused. Consequently, he said government has no option than to bring in Cuban doctors to salvage the situation. The youths organizer made this known on in an interview with Collins Ekuoba Gyasi, morning show host of Hot Fm, a local radio station in Accra. Mr. Gyan however categorically stated that, all the strikes the NDC government head by President John Dramani Mahama has faced is been pushed by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as part of their diabolic agenda to make NDC administration ungovernable. He noted that some leading executives within the labour associations have stood as political executives of the NPP hence influenced them to go on strikes. Mr. Gyan further stated that, no matter what the NPP will do to defame the NDC government, President Mahama will go on to do what he could to make the nation a happy home for Ghanaians.
