Sports Minister Visits Tesano Dolphins

Ahead of their trip to Anrsberg, Germany, the Minister for Youth and Sports, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, last Wednesday visited the Tesano Dolphins at the Tesano Sports Club, the nations premier swimming club, to encourage them to excel. The team is expected to fly out on May 13 to participate in the 42nd annual Schwimmfest in Arnsberg, one of the best club-based age-categorised competitions in the world. The Minister, who was received by Abbiw Jackson, team manager and coach of the team, pledged the ministrys support to ensure the country was represented at the Olympic Games in future. He watched the training of the swimmers in the pool, and said his visit was to emphasise his pledge to ensure all sporting disciplines were given equal attention and to offer his support to the swimmers. Ghanaians should watch swimming because in the next few years, we will be able to do wonders at even the Olympic level and I have confidence in these kids. I see a lot of potential in them and they have my full support, he stated. Theophilus Edzei, President of the Ghana Swimming Association, was equally delighted about the visit and expressed his appreciation to the Minister for his support and commitment to the team.
