The Ghana National Fire Service has promised to establish the cause of the infernos and take appropriate action per the findings. The fire service is yet to conclude its investigations into Sunday�s fire which ravaged the Kantamanto and Makola markets this week. Speaking to Citi News, Public Relations Officer for the Fire Service, Prince Billy Anaglatey, said the nature of the disaster is making it difficult to find the root cause of the fires. �During this time that we are investigating, we are looking at all dimensions and all factors that might be the possible cause of this fire so as soon as we are able to pinpoint what could be behind this fire, I don�t think we need to be saying the general issue for now,� he stated. Mr. Anaglatey further mentioned, �Even as of now, we have still not been able to get all the market men and women whose properties were gutted to tell us their stories. We are trying to interview all of them so that we can get important information.� The whole of Ghana�s capital city came to a standstill as one of its largest markets was razed down by fire on Sunday morning. Properties running into millions of Ghana cedis were destroyed and means of livelihood were snuffed out by the flames. In a related development, tens of shops, according to the Ghana Fire Service, were destroyed when fire gutted sections of the Makola Annex Two, popularly known as Tudu market in Accra. This market was the second to burn in three days. The Kantamanto market, one of the biggest in Accra, was completely burnt on Sunday night.
