Black Stars vs Sudan Game Moved...Essien Charity Game On June 8

The 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Sudan and Ghana will be played on the 7th of June 2013 instead of the earlier advertised date of the 8th of June. The Black Stars will play away to the Sudanese in a crucial qualifying match in the quest to make it to Brazil 2014. This change makes way for the Michael Essien Game for Hope charity football match to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium. It also puts to bed doubts that had initially risen over the sanction of the game by the Ghana Football Association. The June 8 event is being organised by Ghanaian footballer, Michael Essien, as part of activities undertaken by his charity, the Essien Foundation and a host of international football superstars are expected to be in attendance. This years edition is the second to be organised by the player after putting out the first in June 2011. The latest Essien initiative is expected to create huge awareness of the need for Africans themselves to make an effort to inspire the youth towards peace, hope and inspiration.
