Youth In Ashanti Region Must Demote Gangsterism And Live In Peace Hon. Kokofu

Following the gory news that hit the whole of Ashanti Region last Wednesday, a concerned Member of Parliament for the Bantama Constituency, Hon. Henry Kokofu, has thrown in a word of caution to the police, politicians and the youth in the area to stay away from gangsterism and live in harmony. Unknown assailants from Ashtown, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region were reported to have inflicted gunshot and machete wounds on their targets and left them dead in the process. The deceased, who were identified as Victor Ocran and Kwadwo Asamoah also known as Gauso, died whilst being transported to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to be treated by health workers. Eyewitnesses and the police confirmed that the two were set upon in broad-daylight while at a drinking spot by persons on motorbikes and others in a vehicle. However speaking directly to Peacefmonline.com, Hon. Kokofu wondered why the culprits who undertook the gruesome act in broad daylight couldnt be apprehended by the security force. He established that it is about time both the citizenry and the police held each others back in smoking out criminals who are thirty to shed blood and disorganize our societies. The incident is very unfortunate and goes down to talk about gangsterism. If what we are hearing is true, then we know these are groups that are at war with each other, he said. In his opinion, if the killings were politically motivated, then the matter needs to be given a serious approach by the security apparatus. According to him, should the police apprehend the gangsters who carried out the operation, they shouldnt allow the culprits go scot free nor deal placidly with them since a crime is a crime. Ending his submission, Hon. Kokofu took time off to warn the youth in Ashanti Region to stay off activities which could land them behind bars since the law has been made to deal ruthlessly with organizers of crime.
