Supreme Court decides on motion to interrogate petitioners' witnesses

When it reconvenes Thursday morning, the Supreme Court will hear a motion filed by the three respondents seeking to cross examine some witnesses from the petitioners� side, in the election dispute currently before the Court. Mr Tsatsu Tsikata, Counsel for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had filed a motion seeking to interrogate bring forward the three witnesses, including Freda Prempeh, Member of Parliament for Tano North in the Brong Ahafo Region, to testify to their written affidavits. However, the motion is expected to be opposed by the petitioners� lawyers. President John Dramani Mahama, the Electoral Commission and the NDC are respondents in the landmark case. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 2012 polls, his running mate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Mr Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, Chairman of the NPP are the petitioners in the case.
