Ghana FA Rejects Berekum Arsenals League Withdrawal Letter

The Ghana FA says the letter purported to have come from Arsenal to withdraw from the top flight league cannot be authenticated hence they will not accept it. Ghana Football Association Vice President Fred Crentsil said the FA has rejected the letter of withdrawal from the Premier League by Berekum Arsenal due to the authenticity of the letter being in doubt. The Berekum-based side sent a letter to the GFA to withdraw from the ongoing Ghana top-flight league following a decision by the football governing body to fine the club GH8000 for unruly fan behavior during a Premier League game in March this year against Accra Hearts of Oak. However, the second man in command of the countrys football governing body has confirmed to Kumasi-based Anigye FM that the association has indeed received the letter of withdrawal from Arsenal but it has not accepted it. We have received the letter but we are rejecting the letter based on a few reasons, the former Hearts of Oak CEO said. Crentsil added that the association doubts the authenticity of the letter since it was not signed by the owner of Arsenal, Alhaji Yakubu Moro, but rather a solicitor not affiliated to the GFA. The letter was signed by a solicitor not affiliated to us and Yakubu Moro did not sign the letter either, so we will call Yakubu to verify the authenticity of the letter. Berekum Arsenal are currently in the relegation zone of the Ghana Premier League with just four matches to end the season.
