Ashia closes in on Otoo on scorers chart

Liberty Professionals midfielder Kennedy Ashia is hotly chasing Hearts of Oak captain Mahatma Otoo for the top scorer award after scoring his 14th goal at the weekend. Ashia on 14-goals together with Yakubu Mohamed of AshantiGold are two-goals shy-off Otoo, who failed to extend his tally at the weekend when Hearts of Oak settled for a barren draw with All Stars in Wa. With three games to the end of the season, the search for the Golden Boot award is expected to go the wire. Francis Narh of Tema Youth is on 11 goals just as Yahaya Mohamed of Amidaus Professionals. Information gathered by GNA Sports indicates that Selassi Adjei (Amidaus Professionals), Ebenezer Assifuah (Liberty Professionals), Kofi Nti Boakye (Asante Kotoko) and Bright Luqman (Dwarfs) have scored eight times. As many as 85 players have scored a goal each in the premiership which has recorded 421 goals so far.
