Security Is Poor Because NDC Foot Soldiers Have Flooded National Security

A member of the NPP communication team, Richard Asante Yeboah, has slammed the Minister of Defence for passing comment on the Kumasi killings that more people have died in other regions than in the Ashanti, stating that Hon. Mark Owen Wonyongo has failed to ensure the safety of Ghanaians. To him, the statement of the Defence Minister over the Kumasi killings does not give any hope to the rest of the people in Kumasi as he sought to compare regions which have recorded more killings than others. Speaking on Okay FM, he insisted that the country is becoming a state of lawlessness because Chinese miners are attacking the citizenry and nothing is being done about it. He hinted that some people have tagged themselves as national security operatives moving about at the mining areas to ransack the minerals and yet no investigation or arrest has been made to ascertain who is behind these operations. He however said that the former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang has the right to show concern for the happenings in the country; adding that in view of the Kumasi killings there is a self-imposed curfew in Kumasi where the people are forced by the circumstance to sleep by 9 pm. Ghanaians are not comfortable in their country because of the recent serious attacks on their lives, he said; adding that it takes a concerned person like Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings to draw the attention of the national security to be on top of security matters in the country. The NPP communicator said that instead of recruiting experts into the national security, the operations have been reduced to NDC foot soldiers who have occupied spaces in the National Security. He said that the expertise which is characterized with the national security has been broken as those in the service have openly announced their membership of the agency when in actual sense their identities are supposed to be secret. He reiterated that the national security operatives are parading in town in fancy cars since their services have trickled down to collecting debts; indicating that there has not been a single case which investigations have been conducted to unravel the cause of the incidence. He said that the nation is spending lots of money on the national security which is not even accounted for but then there is no benefit coming out from their activities because the service is flooded with foot soldiers that are not knowledgeable in the field.
