Stars Call-Up For Adadey, Adams

Two local goalkeepers, Foli Adadey of Dwarfs and Aduana Stars Stephen Adams look set to get Black Stars call-up for next months crucial World Cup qualifiers. The duo has been in superb form in recent matches and club sources have whispered to GNA Sports that the technical team of the Black Stars have made contacts with them in that regard. According to the sources, the two goalies will be included in the squad for the away double-header against Sudan and Lesotho on June 7 and June 16 in Khartoum and Maseru respectively. The two goalies are expected to provide back-up for first-choice Fatau Dauda, following the unavailability of Adam Larsen Kwarasey due to injury.. The invitation of Adadey and Adams means that Liberty Professionals goalie Daniel Agyei will be axed from the team for the first time in as many months. For Adadey, it will be his maiden call-up to the national Team A whilst Adams will be making a return for the first time since 2012. The Aduana shot-stopper adjudged the best in his position on the local scene in 2012 narrowly missed the boat to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations held in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. Earlier, he failed to shine after being named first-choice ahead of the much-experience Sammy Adjei at the 2011 African Nations Championships (CHAN) in Sudan.
