Lets Seek Divine Intervention

Rev John Ashun, Resident Pastor of the Takoradi Central branch of Christian Faith Church International, has urged Christians in the country to continue to pray earnestly for Ghana in the face of numerous calamities and trust God for divine intervention. He mentioned the frequent fire outbreaks, recent assassinations in broad day light, galamsey activities and the high rate of accidents and appealed to churches to organize prayer meetings to seek Gods intervention to avert the untold misery. If such arbitrary killings can take place in our country in broad day light without the perpetrators being arrested, then there is the need for us to pray for our nation, he added. He also stressed the need for Christians to pray for the nine justices presiding over the landmark case at the Supreme Court for God to grant them the needed wisdom to come out with a favourable ruling at the end of the hearing. Rev. Ashun gave the admonition while addressing the leaders of the church ahead of 14-day prayer and fasting programme for the church and the nation themed, Mpaebo Kese. He indicated that Christians should not sit aloof and think that Ghana is immune to civil unrest and urged all to put their trust in God. What happened in other countries like Liberia, Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone should constantly remind Ghanaians not to take the peace in the country for granted, he stressed. He bemoaned the polarization in the country and called on heads of the various political parties to continue to demonstrate high sense of maturity and patriotism by restraining their followers from engaging in provocative acts that might plunge the entire nation into chaos. He attributed the high rate of moral decadence among some of the youth partly to the advancement in technology and other anti-social behaviours. He admonished the youth of Ghanaian to desist from all forms of immoral acts for God to have mercy on them and save them from evil.
