John Pantsil Insists He Has Overcome Recent Domestic Problems

Ghana defender John Pantsil says he has fully recovered from recent domestic troubles that nearly rocked his fine career. The Hapeol Tel Aviv ace hogged the headlines three months ago for all the wrong reasons after he was arrested by the Ghana Police for allegedly assaulting his wife. He was also in the news for allegedly sleeping with prostitutes during the countrys disappointing display at the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa. But the 32-year-old, who is well-credited for his strong mental toughness overcame his problems to help his Israeli side place third in the recently concluded season. The former Fulham man says he has put the issues behind him and only focused on his career. I have overcome it because I didnt do that, all the media reports were not true but such is life and life must go on, he said I must fight for my future and make it bright because I have other people who are looking up to me. Its high time I call on my friends and speak to them that all that happened wasnt true so they should cheer up and keep praying for me and very soon they will see me back strongly. The experienced right-back was shockingly omitted from the Ghana squad that will take on Sudan and Lesotho in a crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier despite being named among the countrys best performers at the Nations Cup.
