Dr. Bawumia Is Not A Credible Witness

A witness must be credible and abreast with the issues with which he has sworn to testify in court but during the cross-examination Dr. Bawumia who has been the chief witness for the petitioners according to a member of the government communication machinery, could not state categorically the meeting which transpired among all the political parties before the 2012 election. He added that the popular slogan you and I were not there which Dr. Bawumia used to defend himself in court when he found some of the questions were too tough for him, proves that he has wasted the opportunity of the petitioners to substantiate their allegation of irregularities. Speaking on Okay FM, Brogya Gyamfi, a member of the communication team for NDC said that Dr. Bawumia could not ascertain the meeting which the NPP leaders had with the Electoral Commission to hold on with the declaration; adding that there are a lot of statements made by the NPP leaders in the 2012 election but he (Dr. Bawumia) could not admit knowledge of them as he did not hear their campaign manager, Boakye Agyarko stating that the 2012 election was free and fair. He stressed that the unreliable aspect of Dr. Bawumia is when he told the Supreme Court that he did not hear the NPP General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie calling on the party faithfuls to clad in white because they had won the 2012 election. In view of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumias inability to admit his knowledge of these vivid evidence portrays how incredible he has been as a chief witness; recounting that Asiedu Nketia has been part of all the proceedings prior to the 2012 election because he was among the representatives of the NDC in the IPAC meeting and also participated fully in the distribution and transportation of the ballot papers to the various regions and districts in the country. He further said that while the NDC was actively involved in the transportation of the ballot papers, NPP on the other hand was not anywhere near the papers; adding that they (NPP) were not abreast with the process of the 2012 election. He added that with the witness of Asiedu Nketia and the elaboration of Dr. Afari Gyan on what transpired at the meetings among the various groups, this shows that the witness of the petitioners has goofed with his explanations and the proceedings of the 2012 election. To Brogya Gyamfi, Dr. Wereko Brobbey is right with his submission that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is a clueless witness because not until 2008 election he (Dr. Bawumia) did not know anything about electoral process.
