Golden Tulip Accra Hosts Travel And Tour Agents

Golden Tulip Accra has hosted some travel and tour operators to a luncheon aimed at acknowledging their contribution towards the success of the four-star facility. The event, which was held at the Damba Terrace, brought together representatives of about 40 travel and tour companies and stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality industries. Four companies were awarded very attractive prizes, primarily based on the number of room nights generated with the hotel for the year 2012 under review. MBA Central Reservation for the second time running picked the first prize for booking a total of 981 room nights. They were presented with a certificate and a weekend stay for two at the hotel, while the second prize of a certificate and a night stay for two went to Safari Hospitality for having booked total room nights of 903. The third prize winner, Guestlink Travel, recorded 902 room nights for the year under review and took home a certificate and dinner for two. A new entrant, Marina Travels, received a certificate and brunch for two for generating a total 515 room nights after barely a year of its operation with Golden Tulip Accra. Welcoming the guests present, Mrs Bertha de Graft-Johnson, Sales and Marketing Manager of the hotel commended the travel and tour operators for their loyalty which had seen the facility soar over the years, stressing that such an event was important on the hotels calendar, since it accorded management an opportunity to meet face-to-face with these agents to express appreciation for their patronage and also to enhance relationships. She used the occasion to introduce Mr Francis Deyegbe, the hotels new Deputy General Manager, who was recently appointed by Golden Tulip West Africa and GLAHCO Hotels & Tourism Development Company, management and owners, respectively, of the facility, to facilitate the maintenance of improved services in coming years.
