A member of the communication team for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Anim Piesie has advised the leaders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to stamp their authority in the party and debunk the behavior of the young patriots which if not curtailed will render the elders powerless in the future. He said the fact that some factions in the party are not happy with the criticisms from the other members of the party should not reduce their views and opinions to insults; adding that the castigations and uncharitable words which are used on Dr. Charles Wereko- Brobbey and Kwame Pianim for coming out to criticize the direction of the party in the 2012 election is not a good habit which must be trashed in our body politics. Making his submission on Okay FM, he said that the inability of the NPP leaders to condemn the insults coming from the young patriots is gradually turning the authority and experience of the elderly ones in the party into powerless; adding that the young patriots reprimanded PC Appiah- Ofori when he criticized the nomination of Dr. Bawumia, saying that the astute politician was �mad and nonsense� to go against the choice of the party�s running mate. He added that PC Appiah-Ofori is being glorified because his comments support a certain faction in the NPP; in that the attitude of the NPP raise doubt about their democratic dispensation they claim to be championing since the law which enforce freedom of expression is missing in their party. According to him, Dr. Arthur Kennedy did a useful exercise after the 2008 election as he stated what went wrong with the NPP campaign preparation with his book �Chasing the Elephant Into The Bush�; adding that the former Communications Director received a lot of bash from some of the party leaders and the young patriots for speaking the mistakes in the party during the 2008 election. He added that if the NPP had taken the advice of Dr. Arthur Kennedy into consideration, there will not have been any court case and that the NPP will not be giving false hope to their members that the case is turning in their favor. He hinted that �Nana Akufo-Addo has deliberately established the young patriots in the party to descend on anybody whether from within or outside the party who will dare criticize the movement of Nana Akufo-Addo and the direction of this current leadership of the party�.
