NPP MP Asks: Are The Recent Fire Outbreaks A Curse or Plot By Market Renovators?

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Asuogyaman Constituency in the Eastern Region, Hon. Osei Kofi Ameyaw has sought to find out whether the recent fire outbreaks destroying major markets in the city is a curse evoked on the country. Hon. Osei Kofi however seeks to find the brains behind the outbreaks since to his understanding, it is impossible for four major markets in the capital to be razed down by fire only when traders have closed. Is it that those who want to renovate the market are the brains behind the fire outbreaks or what? Because I have heard plans for the rebuilding of the markets are ready for work to commence. Again is it because the traders dont want to agree to the rebuilding of the place that is why there are rampant fire outbreaks? what will the saboteurs gain from destroying people properties worth millions of cedis? What is going on in this country? he quizzed. Hundreds of stalls on Tuesday evening were destroyed when fire gutted the Makola No. 2 market close to Agbogbloshie in Accra. The raging fire destroyed virtually the whole market. The fire outbreak adds up to the recent Kantamanto, Makola and Agbogbloshie markets which all gutted fire destroying properties. The fire outbreaks is becoming too much. Why should this happen? Why must innocent people lose all their properties? Is it a curse or what, or those people who want to build the place are the ones hiring people to set the markets ablaze? What is going on? he asked this on Asempa FM. Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo and Deputy Trade Minister, Nii Lantey Vanderpuije has alleged that saboteurs are behind recent market fires in his constituency. I dont believe this one is a natural occurrence, six fires all in markets within one month? I dont believe so, Nii Lantey Vanderpuije told Joy News.
